If you purchased Software Assurance along with your Microsoft Select License in the last 36 months, your may be fast approaching. This spring OETC offers three options for renewal:

a2

Renew Software Assurance (SA) benefits.

Microsoft Select is a perpetual license program: if you purchase a license under that program, you own that software permanently. If you also purchased Software Assurance (SA) with your Select license, you are entitled to resources and upgrade rights for the software covered. SA must be renewed after a 2-3 year period (25-36 months, depending on your date of purchase) in order to continue receiving these benefits.

b2

Switch to Microsoft Enrollment for Education Solutions (EES).

Enrollment for Education Solutions (EES) is an annuity license program; you are entitled to resources and software upgrade benefits, and the subscription nature of this agreement makes for easier budget planning and software compliance. Pricing is based on FTE for most product licensing. If you decide to terminate your subscription license you can no longer use the software from that license. (Buyout options are also available.)

c2

Do not renew Software Assurance (SA).

You keep your Microsoft Select software, including all updates acquired through SA up until the point at which it expires. You will receive no further updates unless purchased separately.

What we need from you:

We need to hear from you regardless of your decision to renew or not. You should have received a quote from us, inviting you to contact us with your choice of these options. If you have not received a quote and think you should have, please contact us.

Not sure about your SA renewal date?

The Software Assurance benefit for any Microsoft Select license has an expiration date and must be renewed for you to continue to receive those benefits.

What is Software Assurance?

Software Assurance (SA) provides benefits such as upgrades, training, support, and special services at no additional cost. Specific benefits vary across different licenses. More details

What happens if I do not renew Software Assurance on my Select license?

You own your Microsoft Select License in perpetuity; if you do not renew your SA, you can still continue to use your software. This includes any updates acquired through SA up to the point at which it expires, after which there will be no further updates unless purchased separately.

How do I renew Software Assurance on my Select license?

You should have received a quote from us by e-mail regarding the SA renewal. If not, please contact us.

When do I need to renew?

What is EES?

Microsoft Enrollment for Education Solutions is an annual subscription licensing program that provides a simplified way to acquire Microsoft software and services under a single license.

How does EES compare to Microsoft Select?

EES includes all of the same software that Microsoft Select offers, as well as most of the features of SA and many other benefits. More details.

How do I subscribe to EES?

You should have received a quote from us by e-mail regarding the SA renewal, in which you have the option of choosing to subscribe to EES. If you did not receive a quote, please contact us.

What happens to my Select license if I subscribe to EES?

Microsoft Select is a perpetual license, so you own that software permanently, but all of the features offered by Select (as well as most of the SA benefits) are also included in EES. If you choose to end your subscription to EES, you can still use Select, but you will lose access to any updates you acquired through EES unless purchased separately.
